6. Abuse of Adherents:

In our MLM we were blinded by the smoke and mirrors that I have already described to believe the lie that anyone could make it big, while in truth those who actually succeed, even modestly, are in the minority. There are several former members of my group who have told me that they have invested thousands in this business and made no profits at all.

People who refuse to join are referred to as bozos and there is special vilification of those who leave the business. They are called quitters and losers and questions are raised about their mental capacity and/or stability.

Questions about the integrity of business practices are met with strange looks, personal attacks on your character, displays of anger or stony silence.

Pseudo-Christian cults are infamous for criticism, abuse and isolation of their members who ask pertinent questions and/or leave the organizations.
