5. Near Deification of Leaders:
In our MLM group we were constantly told to ‘edify’ our up- line. In MLM language ‘edify’ means to always praise and promote and agree with your up-line no matter what they may be doing or saying whether you think they’re right or wrong. Do you remember the childhood tale, ‘The King’s New Clothes’?
This is also a corruption of the English language. The real meaning of ‘edify’ is ‘to enlighten, instruct and guide spiritually’.
Pseudo Christian cults demand unquestioning obedience of leaders and deliberately corrupt the language of the bible to spread their perverted heretical doctrines and some have practically deified their leaders.
