Tithing: What does the Bible Teach (Often used to 'fleece the flock')
According to what we have
We are to give according to what we have.
For if the readiness [to give] is present, it is acceptable according to what a man has, not according to what he does not have (2 Corinthians 8:12).
If you have $10 and owe $10 to someone, but rather than pay your debt you give the money to a religious organisation, God does not accept your offering. It is “unacceptable” to Him.
Don’t ever give what you do not truly have.
And don’t be sucked in by the “give in faith, expecting God to return to you one hundred-fold” manipulative rubbish that is commonly dished up in Pentecostal churches these days. The Bible says clearly that such ‘giving’ is unacceptable to God.
